Very good reference book!

It never ceases to amaze me the complexity involved in launching the world's first operational ballistic missile the infamous A4/V2. It would be understandable if the V2 was designed, created and used operationally in peacetime especially training the troops to use it on a battlefield, but this was all done in the depths and destruction of WW2. The logistics of moving these rockets and their firing crews and equipment is truly incredible, this is what the German military did very efficiently until the last days of WW2 and were finally overrun. During the whole operational history of the V2 not one launch site was hit apparently. When you consider the mass of equipment used to launch a V2 and the fact they were all launched from in and around The Hague in Holland that's quite incredible. Although the V2 was a waste of resources, money and time in the long run it's short operational life opened the the world to weapons undreamed of and the way to space. It's worth reading about the history of the V2 as it's a truly fascinating part of history.I bought this book because I wanted to know the real secret of this weapon: How it was set up ready to launch. Reading this book which is a copy of the original German manual translated just adds to the amazement of these weapons. The rocket troops had to learn all this in record time in unbelievable wartime conditions!The fact is this was a totally new and as yet untried weapon of war in the battlefield. So many things went wrong even at the launch sites due to malfunctioning rockets firing crew error etc, it's a wonder any of these weapons were launched! Read this book and be amazed what you had to know to fire a V2. Fantastic book well worth reading.

Very interesting ,the translation is a bit much, but it adds to the flavor of the books concept.

It was interesting but, It did not contain a description of the original V-2 accelerometer.
