When I received this amazing little box in the mail, I knew exactly who I was going to give it to! My mom was born on the 4th of July and has always loved flags and everything patriotic!"Long May She Wave: 100 Stars and Stripes Collectible Postcards" curated by Kit Hinrichs is an amazing set of 100 postcards that represent America, the American flag and what it stands for! I was surprised by the diversity of the postcards. It includes everything from artwork, to a replica of a William Howard Taft Campaign postcard from 1909, to photographs of a hand-sewn Civil War-period flag with 38 stars from 1861. It really is quite an interesting set!These 100 postcards are compiled from one of the largest collections of American Flag Art in the world. It features more than 200 years of art from history.One thing I thought was really neat was that the set comes with two of each postcard. So buyers can keep one set for themselves, and give the other set away. Another element of this set I really loved was the way it was packaged. The 100 cards come in a box shaped like a book, and actually looks very much like a book. The front cover opens to reveal the postcard set, and includes a small dedication to the set on the front cover.Overall, there was nothing about this set that I disliked! I love the classic american history included in the postcards. I've always been fascinated with vintage postcards and the things that inspire them. I would definitely recommend this set to others looking to expand their collection!I rate this set as 5 stars. I received this set from Blogging for Books in exchange for my honest unbiased opinion.

These are great. I bought these to write letters to my representatives. I also bought several postcard stamps, looked up all the addresses of my state and federal reps and made a bunch of labels for each of them. Now every time I read about something that I think needs to be dealt with, I just jot down my 2 cents on one of these post cards, slap on a label and stamp and in the mail it goes. Way better than emailing them.

This is a great collection of cards - like many other 100 Card sets, there are actually 2 sets of 50. Depending on your preferences, this is good or bad. Personally, I like two sets of 50 because sometimes there are cards that I'd like to keep for my own collection. But that's just me. That being said, these are a fairly interesting set. Not sure what I was expecting, but I was pleasantly surprised to find a few that were really kind of cool, not just all Americana and "Woohoo, 'Murica!" I really like these a lot and while I actually bought these for Postcrossing, I decided to send a few to friends and relatives for the 4th of July. They thought they were great! These are a great buy, very happy with the purchase, sturdy stock and standard postcard size. Attached some (not all) pics for reference.

This is a very nice collection of postcards that I purchased to have handy to let politicians hear from me. They come in a sturdy flip-top box - shown - that has enough room to tuck some postcard stamps and return address labels into.

Kit and Linda Hinrichs have been collecting American Flag memorabilia for years. Their collection spans a good 200 years. Fifty images are included in this postcard set, and you get two postcards of each image. They range from patriotic decorations, quilts, artwork, historic flags, postcards(!), decorative items, political campaign goodies, photographs and toys.In the last two categories are two of my favorites from this set. First is a sepia photograph of a living flag formation composed of naval cadets in 1917. Second is a gorgeous bank made by David & Susan Kirks in 1970. Put a coin on Uncle Sam's tongue and he swallows it when you pull the lever.On the message side of each postcard is a caption describing the image. The cardstock is quality, a little thicker than usual. Each card is about 6" x 3 13/16" and postcard postage will do. The cards come in a nice sturdy lidded box. It doesn't have a ribbon for taking out the postcards, as some boxed sets do.But overall, a nice set of postcards.Happy Reader

These postcards are patriotic, beautiful, and very interesting. They are perfect for writing congressmen, and a sizable number for postcard parties.

These postcards are fantastic. Great quality, awesome images, good information about the image on the back. The box is a keepsake to store stuff in, long after the postcards get used up.I marked them 4 instead of 5 stars because the price is a bit high.I did not receive any products or services in exchange for this review.

The impressive-looking lidded box does not hold one hundred different cards, but fifty cards in duplicate. The "Stars and Stripes" description needs to be taken with a grain of salt, as not all the cards are effigies of the American flag, though most allude to patriotism or include flag imagery in some way. (Flag buttons, or images of Miss Liberty clad in stars-and-stripes robes, are typical of the latter.) Cardstock is of good quality and the cards will go domestically at the postcard rate of thirty-five cents. The contents of this box are sufficient for my purposes (mailing, including Postcrossing), though I can't help but feel more could have been done with them.

Patriotic postal cards. Perfect for sending messages to elected officials.
